Gift, in her own words: “I am a double orphan and found it very difficult to complete my secondary education, but with the intervention of WISE, my hope was rekindled. They put me on a secondary scholarship in the year 2014 for Grade 10 at Kaoma Secondary School. I graduated with a B average.
“Maybe by this time I was going to be a housewife, bearing a lot of children, selling tomatoes at the market or working as a shopkeeper. But here I am today, studying at Kwame Nkrumah University, all because of WISE. Am now a full time student pursuing a degree program, which I started in 2018. I am majoring in English with Civic Education as my minor.
“I hope to finish my degree in 2022 and to qualify for a job teaching at the secondary level. Without the support and encouragement of the entire team at WISE, I was not going to make it or reach where I am today.”
